offers 3 workshops and 2 facility tours during the three day event. The workshops are offered Sunday (April
3rd) during the afternoon. The Tours are offered as
indicated.
Workshop A
Design, Implementation, and Assessment
of High Performance Learning Environments

learn about High Performance Learning Environments or Hi-PeLE
that enhance learning effectiveness within active and learning environments in
Engineering Education. You will participate in the workshop in an active and
collaborative way to get a useful idea of the different aspects of Hi-PeLE.

Building Partnerships with Industry:
Creating a Win-Win Environment

This Workshop is designed to give you the basic
strategic elements for establishing the framework for a partnership where all
parties come away achieving their goals, expectations and outcomes. These
strategies can be applied to any partnership related activity and are based on
success practices between education and industry organizations.

Installing and Using Web-Operable
Laboratories

In this
workshop, we will explore (1) how to put experimental equipment on-line, (2)
ways to use the capabilities of remote experimentation in classes and home
assignments, and (3) where remote labs have advantages and limitations.

Sunday April 3rd. Meet in
the Sheraton Read House Lobby for departure at 1pm. You will go to the visitor center and
meet with volunteers for a presentation.
The inside tour is still being negotiated, but due to 9-11 the inside
tours are difficult to schedule.
The tour will take you around the large earth-filled dam. You can also view the reservoir.
TVA Power Generation Distribution Tour
Cancelled
Tuesday April 5th. Meet in the 4th floor lobby of
EMCS for a 1:30 pm departure.
You will arrive at the facility (which is in walking distance from the
Read House) for badging and a program starting in TVA’sTennessee River Room at 2pm. Program
presentation to last about 30 minutes.
You will then tour the facility for approximately one hour.
